This piece is inspired by the final line of Mary Oliver’s poem The Summer Day: “Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” That question has stayed with me—an invitation to reflect on meaning, purpose, and the beauty of simply being alive. While painting this work, I imagined alternate worlds where wonder is abundant and curiosity leads the way. Thick layers of acrylic, gold leaf, glitter, and collage materials build a richly textured surface—this painting is a gem of layers, offering new details each time you look.
